Shooting in London for stock libraries is becoming more and more difficult. As the number of photographers increases and the limitless digital revolution continues there is a saturated market for stock pictures. When shooting a famous landmark in London it can be a good idea to look at previous images, postcards etc, to see what the best angle is and what angles to avoid. They will also give you a clue to what the location will look like at different times of the day. The photographer has to work hard to get a relevant up to date image, from the best angle and with a unique, often fortunate element.
Below are a couple of portrait shots for a private client in one of my favourite places to shoot, near the Tate Modern.

Photography example 09 © Chris Gloag 2007 I shot this image near the Millenium Bridge. She worked in a high powered male dominated job and I wanted to use the people on the bridge to play with scale. |

Photography example 09 © Chris Gloag 2007 This image is only shot about 20M from the bridge but has a very different feel. Both images are square and have been cropped for illustration. |
